Origins

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) was developed in the 1980s in Pune, India, by Master Kusum Modak, a student of B.K.S. Iyengar. She combined the precise alignments and pranayama of Hatha Yoga with the Ayurvedic art of touch taught by Vasudev Limaye, known as "Ajoba." This holistic approach integrates assisted stretches and therapeutic massage, blending yoga and Ayurveda. Refined over 35 years, it is carried on today by disciples such as Ananta Sylvain Girard.

How it works

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) is a holistic method fusing Ayurveda and yoga, using a small amount of oil, calamus root powder to exfoliate and detoxify the skin, as well as slow, deep strokes performed with both hands and feet. It combines deep tissue massage, assisted stretching, breathwork, and mindfulness to restore physical, emotional, and energetic balance.

Benefits

This practice offers a genuine reconnection with oneself, working in synergy on body and mind. By cultivating a refined perception of body awareness, it naturally improves daily coordination and stability. This postural work is accompanied by liberated breathing: by encouraging deep breathwork, it optimizes oxygenation to infuse the body with renewed vitality.

Beyond physical benefits, it invites mindful presence in the moment. This grounding calms the mind, dispels stress and fatigue, and paves the way for restful sleep and a strengthened immune system. Finally, by harmonizing posture and stimulating Prana, it awakens vital energy, offering a global balance that is both physical and emotional.

*Additional information

Packages represent an ideal approach to optimizing your daily wellness care. I recommend completing them within a short timeframe, ideally over one month with one massage per week (4 sessions spaced 7 days apart). This rhythm ensures perfect synergy between sessions, preventing gaps and promoting long-lasting regeneration. The goal of the package is to structure your habits to achieve concrete results!

During massages and treatments, various tools and accessories may be used based on your specific needs, such as dry or wet cupping, poultices, tuning forks, Tibetan singing bowls, semi-precious stones, moxibustion, or the Kansu bowl...
